Student Led Toolkits

Hello, Everybody 
Today me and some people from the Te Waka Ako went to New Windsor School For The Ako Hiko Toolkits. At the toolkits there was two sessions, but before the session there was a coding challenge using the Sphero, the Sphero is a ball that you program with an ipad. 





After the challenge the first session I did 3D modelling with Tinkercad, Here is a picture of my creation!















For my next session I did some maths work with the game Prodigy, Prodigy is a cool maths game where you are a wizard and you explore a giant island.

At the end of the day we had a problem solving challenge, the challenge was to build a structure with straws, tape and string to hold a cup holding 100 grams of weight. It was really hard, here is a picture of our structure!


















Today I learnt some more Tinkercad skills so I think next time if I present I can share some of my Tinkercad skills.
Overall, the Ako Hiko Toolkits were really fun. I can't wait to do it next year!

Hi bloggers, Hope you guys are having a great day. Anyway, This term we have been doing lots of independent work in class. We now have our own writing, numeracy and reading tumble. We have all sorts of tasks to do, from vocabulary activities, to rounding and compensating. In my writing tumble I have wrote about a temple in Cambodia, Angkor Wat, have a look! I have just entered the sacred temple. Woah, look at this place! What should I do first? How about that door on my right? Yeah, let's do it! Look at the Buddha statue! It's Gigantic! It looks awesome from here. Angkor Wat is really quite the visit! The crow of the birds is very loud, and the trees are towering! The trees looks hundreds of years old, imagine the history this temple contains as well! It is steaming hot in Cambodia, this was the wrong the wrong day to wear a sweater. Improving Comments

Buenos Dias Bloggers! In Cybersmart today we talked about improving our blog post comments. When writing we have to ask ourselves questions (like ' Does my comment make sense?' or ' Does it ask a question?') to make our comments the best we can. here is a picture of the google drawing we made about improving comments. In my improved comment I added: A link to my blog and I wrote 'Kind Regards, Anuk' I really enjoyed this activity because I want to be able to post quality comments on other blogs. Tsunami Proof Village With Tinkercad!

Hey Bloggers, Hope you are having a magical day! Our WALT was to combine prior knowledge with what we've learnt, in this, case using my knowledge about floods and house and then adding with what the text has said. In my reading group, we read about tsunamis hitting Samoa, and we talked about what makes a Tsunami-Proof home. I used Tinkercad  to make a village that could withstand a Tsunami, here it is! (Also check out the text 'Building For The Future' below) Here is a big vault on stands to withstand a Tsunami. Metal sheets are screwed onto the the base plate. If high amounts of water come, the stand will help the vault. Inside the vault, there is lots of citizens' houses, and a food market and water tap because they are need to survive.
