Class Novel Studies

 In class we were told to read a novel and make a book review. The book I read was called 'Crack In The Sky'.

The book Crack In The Sky is about a boy named Conor who lives an ordinary life falls into his new ever new couch. Conor meets his new friends Willow, Burler and the Duncans. The story is about Conor and his friends finding a way to escape the sofa. 

 In the book review I made a character description on a character named Conor, Here it is!

Overall I enjoyed reading and doing a book review. It was interesting and quite hard.
Next time I might try to be a bit more informative.

Descriptive Language About A Place, Can You Guess The Place?

T his week we are working on using descriptive language by sharing our writing straight onto our blog.  The challenge we have is to describe a place using only six sentences. After reading the description you need to guess the place that has been described. It would really help if you say what clues helped you come to this conclusion. 1. Lots of people clicking away. 2. People trying new functions spamming buttons. 3. A rapid clicking sound can be heard when in this place. 4. People discovering new things . 5. People asking for more time with their special thing. 6. Tsunami Proof Village With Tinkercad!

Hey Bloggers, Hope you are having a magical day! Our WALT was to combine prior knowledge with what we've learnt, in this, case using my knowledge about floods and house and then adding with what the text has said. In my reading group, we read about tsunamis hitting Samoa, and we talked about what makes a Tsunami-Proof home. I used Tinkercad  to make a village that could withstand a Tsunami, here it is! (Also check out the text 'Building For The Future' below) Here is a big vault on stands to withstand a Tsunami. Metal sheets are screwed onto the the base plate. If high amounts of water come, the stand will help the vault. Inside the vault, there is lots of citizens' houses, and a food market and water tap because they are need to survive.
